The College makes prudent use of the funds allocated by the University for staff training. During non-teaching workdays, the college staff visited Colleges of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the University of Macao and Colleges in other Sino-foreign cooperative universities for exchange and continuously learn from our counterparts to improve our professional knowledge, broaden our horizon, draw on others’ successful experience, and come up with our own innovations.
From May 30th to June 4th, 2019, delegates of Diligentia College visited Taiwan on a college exchange experience. During this trip, we communicated with the residential colleges of National Tsing Hua University, the Student Affairs Office of National Taiwan University, the Cross Strait Academic Exchange Office of Soochow University, the Bo-ya College of Taiwan Chengchi University, the Sanquan College of Tamkang University and the Holistic College of National Taiwan Normal University. Sharing sessions were held to discuss the construction and customization of a college system, the development of service learning projects, and overseas exchange programmes. After this visit, the College Office modified the college management system in various respects and started making plans for students’ service learning.

On July 4th, 2019, under the arrangement of the University, delegates of Diligentia College along with colleagues from other colleges and OSA went to Fudan University to participate in the 6th Educational Forum on Modern Residential College System. During this trip, we engaged in in-depth discussions with the Colleges of other universities about the theme of the forum: inheritance, innovation, and the pursuit of excellent college education. During the forum, we also visited the Renzhong College of Fudan University. From the knowledge and experience gained during this trip, we optimized the College’s hardware facilities, and launched a “Diligentia Whetstone Social Learning Programme”, which aims to cultivate students’ independent learning abilities through teamwork, allowing them to discover themselves, to care for others and to serve the society.
The 6th Educational Forum on Modern Residential College System (July 4th, 2019)
On September 24th, 2019, delegates of Diligentia College visited Shuren College of Southern University of Science and Technology. We conducted a profound discussion and shared our experience on the adaptability education of freshmen, the development of social practice services and the handling procedures of handling student emergencies. This communication helps improve the College’s educational activities and fine-tune our urgent response plans for handling student emergencies.
