Activity Review丨Event Diligentia Mid-Autumn Festival Parade: Chang’an City
Toast to the moon, and the rivers flow down. Enjoy the poetic atmosphere in Chang’an, and find the moonlight in mountains and rivers. On Sep.22nd, Diligentia College invited you to the mid-autumn festival parade in our Chang’an city.

Music came from the far. Under the moon and in front of the flowers, dancer waved sleeves in the air gracefully. The Chinese dance took us back to the Tang Dynasty. A pair of sleeves was floating, and the entire garden was scented. The dancers were flexible and light as feathers. The dance coordinated with the moonlight.

At dusk and with moonlight, guests arrived. In this mid-autumn festival, Mater Gu Yang and three wardens walked at the street in Chang’an, giving their best wishes to Diligentians. Their words were sincere, passing on warmth.

On rivers in Jiangnan, sunset meets with the water. Friends come back to the beautiful mountains and waters in Jiang Nan. Paddling in Smoke and Rain brought us to the Jiangnan water town: paddling on a boat, watching fishermen on the side, enjoying the autumn moon. Following this song, Insincere Love was sung. Tonight’s beauty would be kept in memory.

For thousands of years, the moon had never changed, but the people had changed. With moonlight shed on people, chilling wind brought spasm of sentiment. Moon Bay sent us into the grand sand lands in Dunhuang under the moon. Then, the Diligentia dance team Pinkpunk performed Super. With pouting moonlight, the dancers performed the brilliant vibe of ancient China, making everyone feel boosted.

When the performance ended, comforting scent came. The scent came from the scented herb shop nearby. We picked up red-painted wooden boards and wrote down our best wishes with feather pens. As breeze swept through, the wooden boards made tinkling sounds, leading our mind to the far and to our dreams.

Time to go home. The drum was beaten, and the curfew came. Clothes came back to the fancy clothing shop, and we came back to the shuttle back to 2023 from ancient Chang’an city. The mid-autumn festival was different every year, but the moon was always the same, representing the symbol of good wishes and yearn. Eye closed, we wished all days in the future would be like tonight, as the moon lighted up the past and the future.
