The Study Abroad Programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) , United Kingdom.
From August 5 to August 23, 2024, faculty and students from Diligentia College and Tsinghua University's Xinya College participated in a short-term study programme at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the United Kingdom. This programme at LSE, led by distinguished scholars from various disciplines, centred on contemporary issues and was closely aligned with prevailing societal trends. Over three weeks, participants engaged with topics such as artificial intelligence, climate change, and social equality. The interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum encouraged students to observe, comprehend, and analyse social phenomena through a synthesis of theories and methodologies, thereby enhancing their critical thinking, broadening their international perspectives, and effectively strengthening their global awareness and intercultural communication skills.
Outside the classroom, the Diligentia College group explored several esteemed institutions, including the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the London Business School, and the University for the Creative Arts. They immersed themselves in the vibrant academic environment and rich cultural heritage of these establishments. Additionally, students visited various iconic London landmarks and cultural sites, such as the British Museum, Buckingham Palace, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, and Windsor Castle. As they wandered through the city, they engaged in meaningful interactions with people from diverse backgrounds, experiencing the intersection and blending of various cultures, and gaining a profound appreciation for the unique cultural charm of a city where tradition and modernity coexist harmoniously.
