The organization is committed to guiding students to actively contribute to society, support vulnerable groups, conserve the environment, and enhance their understanding of public welfare, thereby fostering a sense of social responsibility and teamwork and ultimately developing their student leadership abilities.

Since its inception, Open Rain has successfully organized a range of public welfare activities, including beach cleanups at Shenzhen Bay, bird watching and bird conservation, mangrove protection, and summer teaching programs. These activities, known for their creativity and positive impact, have earned Open Rain praise both within and beyond Diligentia College. It was named the most popular student organization at Diligentia College in 2024. Furthermore, its “OR-X Greater Bay Area Beach Cleanup Series” was honored with the Guangdong Province 2024 “Yi Miao Plan” Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Special Demonstration Project award.
